Singer-songwriter Hamzaa headlined the first night of Give a Gig Week, with support from Youth Music NextGens, EVA and Jasmine Rowland.

Youth Music's Give a Gig Week kicked off at Amazing Grace in London Bridge on Monday 27 March 2023.

Youth Music CEO, Matt Griffiths, opened the night with a speech, thanking the crowd for their attendance and support.

EVA, a Youth Music NextGen, then took over the stage with her band to showcase her dynamic sound.

Playing a number of existing releases, such as 'The Snow' and 'Reaching Out', EVA also performed an unreleased single, and gave Sam Cooke's soul classic 'Cupid' a drum 'n' bass remix.

Hamzaa's headline set blew the crowd away. Singing some of her classic releases, including 'Sunday Morning', she commanded the stage with a charismatic presence and impeccable vocals.

Entering to rapturous applause, she danced across the stage, getting the crowd moving their feet and swaying side to side.

Momentarily, Hamzaa switches the vibe up and sings completely acapella to open her track 'Hard to Love'. It's a powerful stripped-back rendition that completely spellbinds the room. However, it's not long before her drummer comes in on the beat and everyone's grooving again.

At another point, Kali Claire joins Hamzaa to sing their collaborative single 'Heart Strings', from Kali's EP, 'A Man's World'. It's a heartwarming performance where the pair's friendship is clear to see.

Jasmine Rowland closed the night with a vibe-infused DJ set, spinning hot tracks from the likes of Eliza Rose, Burna Boy, Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé.

Already fired up from EVA and Hamzaa's performances, the audience showed no signs of slowing down, and danced right up until close.

The night would not have been possible without the support of several Youth Music NextGen content creators, including Stephanie the videographer, Dylan the photographer, and Charlie capturing the highlights on Youth Music's Instagram Stories.

It was a sensational first night of Give a Gig Week, with plenty more to come...
